Home Assessment-Audit

How long will the audit take ?

Expect at least two hours and 3 hours for larger homes

What can i do to be ready for the audit ?

Have a copy of your electric bill and if you have natural gas, a copy of a recent gas bill. If you have oil or propane have copies if your last year's deliveries.

Where do you need to look in my house ?

Plan on an auditor being everywhere in your home at least once. Your home will be measured for load calculations, inspected for mold and moisture problems, your attic will be inspected for insulation and proper venting levels, crawalspaces will be checked for the same, attic accesses in different areas of your ceiling will be inspected, if you have pool heaters or a jacuzzi it will need to be looked at.

What is a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR assessment/audit?

The assessment is the first step towards improving a home’s efficiency and reducing energy bills. During a basic assessment, the BPI accredited contractor will perform:

The assessment can also include a blower door test, which measures and located air leakage in your house. Shamrock Inc will then evaluate the results and explain to you what improvements can be made, as well as the cost of making the improvements.

How much does it cost to have a Home Performance assessment done?

The cost of the assessment varies from contractor to contractor. Contractors may charge different fees for services they provide, including the home assessment. Please discuss pricing with each contractor prior to having the home assessment completed. It is generally accepted practice to contact several contractors before selecting one. New Jersey's Clean Energy Program does not warrant the products or services of participating contractors.

What kind of report should I expect to get after the assessment?

Once the assessment is completed, Shamrock Inc will provide you with a report including information about the existing conditions of your home as well as recommendations to make your home more energy efficient.

How long after my home assessment should I get my report?

Shamrock Inc should be able to provide your home assessment report within a few weeks of performing the assessment.

If I do not receive a copy of my assessment report, what should I do?

If you feel you have been waiting too long for your reports or estimates please feel free to call Mike Hammen @ 609 859 2424
